What is the data rate for a 1080p signal?

I receive hi-def cable TV. What is the data rate of the signal that the cable company sends to my home? I assume this is a compressed signal. How does it compare to an uncompressed signal needed to decode the 0s and 1s into a picture? As I have three tuners (2 for recording and one for watching) then I presume that I can receive three channels at once. This must be a huge bandwidth. Especially compared to a crappy 2.5 Megabit download for broadband on the same line.
