Ps3 Red Screen Of Death?

Hi Guys i no alot of you will say contact sony,well my ps3 is out of warranty and has the red screen of death,ive narrowed it down too the harddrive,when i update the ps3 it says the HHD is corrupt,so ive changed the HHD and still its says its corrupt,i can get it too the options like restore ive tryed all that and still gos red after alls done,id rather try and fix it or just bin it,no good sending it too sony and paying the money they want any help guys ? thanks
