Speakers and Soundcards. Awfully confusing.?

Check the back of your computer where the speaker plugs are. If you only have 3 (probably Green, Blue and Pink) then no, it won't work. That's for Stereo, Line-In and Microphone. For Surround Sound, you need, I think, up to 6 plugs. These are additionally, Orange, Black and ... Purple, maybe, I don't remember this last color.
